THE CUSTOM PROCESS

01 — TELL ME YOUR IDEA

Email contact@averynicolejewelry.com with your inspiration photos, preferred metals and stones, budget, and any details about your vision. You don't need to have it all figured out!

02 — DESIGN + QUOTE

I'll follow up with any questions and put together a quote and, when appropriate, a digital rendering. This usually takes up to one week.

03 — MAKE IT OFFICIAL

Once you've approved the design and quote, a 50% non-refundable deposit secures your spot on my bench!

04 — MADE BY HAND

Your piece will be handmade in my Salt Lake City studio. Most customs take 4–6 weeks once the design is finalized. Rush orders may be available for an additional fee.

05 — THE BIG REVEAL

I'll send photos of your finished piece for approval. Once approved, the remaining 50% balance is due, and your new treasure is carefully packaged and shipped to you!

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Custom deposits are non-refundable. Once your 50% deposit is paid, I begin reserving materials, time, and bench space specifically for your project.

Custom designs are made specifically for you. Because of this, custom pieces are final sale once production has begun.

Designs are finalized before production begins. I'll work with you to make sure we're on the same page about the overall design, materials, and price before I begin fabrication.

Your piece will be handmade. Small variations and signs of hand fabrication are part of what makes a handmade piece yours.

Customs FAQ

What metals do you work with?

✧ Sterling silver (.925)

✧ Fine silver (.999)

✧ 10k, 14k & 18k yellow or rose gold 

✧ Platinum

I do not work with white gold, gold-filled, vermeil, or plated jewelry.

What stones do you work with?

✧ Natural and Lab grown gemstones (both faceted and cabochons)

✧ Natural and Lab grown diamonds

✧ Minerals (Turquoise, Agates, Opals, Kyanites, etc)

Do you work with client provided stones and metal?

Have a gemstone sitting in a jewelry box? An old engagement ring you want to completely reinvent? A sentimental piece that isn't really your style anymore?

I'd love to see what we can do with it.

I accept client-provided gemstones and, in some cases, precious metal from existing jewelry. Because I haven't personally sourced or inspected client materials before purchase, all client-provided stones require a signed jewelry intake form and liability waiver before work begins.

I'll evaluate your materials first to make sure they're suitable for the new design.

How can I get an idea for pricing?

Prices vary depending on metal, gemstones, and design complexity. The starting prices above are estimates, and your final quote will be tailored to your design.

Below, you can find past customs I've created and the prices they sold for. These pieces were priced based on a variety of factors, so similar designs may have different prices, but they'll give you an idea of what to expect before you reach out for a quote.
